sdfsdjflasdkjflaskdjf Oh my god yesterday was awesome.
I want to thank everyone I met for being so awesome, thanks to all the people who bought things at my table, thanks to the people who purchased my art from the art auction, and just thanks to everyone involved in the con; artists, fans, and the guys who ran the show and made it all happen! It was a great experience.
THE DAY:
Got there a little before 9 a.m. with Hannah K to set up. I feel like we got there too early because it was only us and like 5 others. Lol but it was still exciting!
Team ‘Box’ got to sit between Mr. Fes from Fesworks, LLC and the Texas Game Masters. They were cool! I even got interviewed by Fes for his podcast! Super cool!
Then it was panel time! I had a panel at 11:25 a.m. called ‘I love Webcomics!’ It was super cool. I was the only girl. Ha. I was accompanied in this panel by Mark Largent from Wannabe Pirates, Chris Jeffery from Cartridge, and Mark Stokes from Zombie Boy. It was such a cool group to be with. All of us have been drawing for some time and appreciate the online comic world. We talked about the development of our comics, how we discovered the webcomic world, and keep on going with our comics. It was really cool to hear everyone’s comic story and share our knowledge to all those present at the panel.
Then it was back to the table and back to work! Sold a good amount of items and met a lot of new people, readers and artists. In my downtime, I started on an art piece for the art auction that was taking place later in the evening.
Then the con was winding down at 5 and we packed it up, went to get some dinner, then headed back to the hotel for the art auction. The proceeds of the auction would go to The Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children . It’s a really good cause and there are pretty cool original works up for bid.
So me Hannah K, and my friends Daniel, and Iris joined us for this auction. We all ended up drawing around the table. They were doing live time sketching which was fun. Everyone drew the model for a certain time. It started at two minutes, then five, then twenty. I would do all the twenty minute sketches so I could put them in the auction because Lord knows I can’t draw something cool in under five minutes. Lol.
So I put all those sketches for auction as well as the Bob’s Burgers piece and a couple of other doodles. My art made $48 all together for the charity so I felt great! I’m happy people bought my work!
Then it was time for the drive home. I was about to crash at the hotel in the auction room. Ha. All in all, twas a good con. Definitely hoping to go back for a third year.
